WHO CAN PLAY FUNKIE'S BASHBALL?

All kids aged 6-11 are invited to Funkie's Bashball! Whether you're a baseball superstar or stepping up to the plate for the first time, Bashball is all about having an awesome time in a high-energy, fast-paced atmosphere.

HOW DO THE POINTS WORK?

In every game, there are three points up for grabs — but it’s not all about the scoreboard. One point goes to the team that wins, but the other two are awarded for what really matters: hustle, attitude, cheering, and sportsmanship. It’s not just about playing hard — it’s about playing with heart

Teams that show love for the game, lift each other up, and bring the energy will always be rewarded. Because in Funkie Phil’s world, how you play matters just as much as the final score. Let’s make every game one to remember!

1

GENERAL GAMEPLAY

Equipment: Whiffle bats and squishy balls.
Pitching: The umpire pitches and calls balls/strikes.
Missed Balls: If the batter misses, the umpire pulls a new ball from a bucket. The missed ball is placed in a bucket by the catcher, to be returned at the end of the game.
2

UMPIRE & BALL INTERACTION

Hit Umpire: If the batter hits the umpire, it’s a single.
Line Drive to Umpire: If the batter hits the umpire in the head area with a line drive, it’s a home run and all runs count as two.
3

INFIELD & OUTFIELD RULES

No Pass Balls: If the ball goes out of play, the runner cannot advance.
Home Runs: A ball hit past the outfield cones on the full is a home run. Balls rolling through the cones are live until returned to the infield.
Ball Ownership: Players get to keep the first home run ball they hit for the tournament. Max one ball per player.
4

BASERUNNING

Advancing: Only advance on a batted ball, not on passed balls.
No Stealing or Leading: No stealing or leads.
Base Turning: If a runner returns to a base, they must continue back to it and cannot advance.
5

STRIKEOUTS & BASERUNNING

Drop Third Strike: A batter can run to first base after a strikeout, but they’re out if the ball is thrown to the pitcher/first baseman before they get there.
Last Batter: The last batter plays like a normal game of baseball with two outs. If any force out occurs (caught ball, force out at first, or if the fielder throws the ball to the pitcher/umpire and gets the batter out before they reach first base), no runs count that cross the plate during that play.
6

DEFENSIVE RULES

Outs: Caught balls, tagged runners, and force plays all count as outs. The ball can be thrown to the umpire/pitcher, and if it strikes them before the runner reaches first, it’s an out.
7

ADDITIONAL RULES

Pace: This is a fast-paced game with opportunities for every player to run. Even on a strikeout, the drop third strike rule allows the batter to run.
Ball Return: Missed balls are returned by the catcher at the end of the game.
8
